Dirty instruments close operating rooms at BAMC

Brooke Army Medical Centre, San Antonio, shut theatres and cancelled operations last month after blood, bone and skin were found on surgical instruments.

The Warwick team kept busy in May

Last month started with Darby working with USA partners Healthmark at the IAHCSSM exhibition and conference in Nashville.

Meanwhile Janine worked with distribution partners in Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Next Darby attended Malaysian IDS Healthcare Forum in Kuala Lumpur.

From there he travelled to Vietnam to work with Nhat Phuc Company, our distributor in Hanoi.

The years of working with the companies amount to 80+ years.

Small molecule stops infectious biofilms

Researchers at Trinity College, Dublin, reported that a small molecule can stop hard-to-treat biofilms forming on medical devices.

The new study claims the molecule blocks the ability of stubborn and common infectious bacterium to form biofilms.

The anti-bacterial discovery will prevent infections spreading on medical devices.
